Dutch OpenFOAM® Users Group

On November 25th and 26th, Dynaflow Research Group organizes  this 2-day training intended for engineers involved in fluid flows in industry that are considering to use CFD/OpenFOAM®. The participants will be introduced to open-source CFD technology OpenFOAM® using HELYX-OS. The most commonly used CFD solver capabilities of OpenFOAM® will be explored. The front-end software packages HELYX-OS will be introduced and extensively used to model and analyse industrial case studies in different fields like incompressible/compressible flows, heat transfer and multiphase flows.  Using hands-on practical sessions, you will learn to setup, run and post-process cases which are relevant to realistic industrial applications.

With everyone back from holiday, the meeting of the Dutch OpenFOAM user group on September 17, 2013 once again led to interesting connections between the work of various researchers and practitioners. This brief report tells more about it.

The sixth meeting of the Dutch OpenFOAM User Group will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in the afternoon. We will once again present an interesting program with presentations of OpenFOAM users from various backgrounds. There will be talks about dredging, simulation of bubbly flows and about the use of the Helyx GUI. The international speaker is Dimitar Lukarski from Uppsala University in Sweden. As usual, Hrvoje Jasak will join the meeting and give a presentation about the latest developments in OpenFOAM.

On June 18, 2013 an introductory course in the use of OpenFOAM for computational fluid dynamics analysis will be given at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science of Delft University of Technology, in Delft. The course is organized by Delft Centre for Computational Science and Engineering
